PROTECTING YOUR YURT IN WINTER

1. TECHNIPLUS FABRIC

During the wet season, a TECHNIPLUS technical canvas on your yurt will keep it well protected. Made from the same material as boat sails, it ensures waterproofing while letting your yurt breathe. This prevents seepage, limits green and black marks, and preserves other interior fabrics that won’t need changing for a long time to come. It creates a protective envelope around your yurt. A little more expensive than traditional summer canvas (non-waterproof polycotton), its investment avoids complications and unnecessary expenses over time.

2. RAINSCREEN FABRIC

WATERPROOFING fabric is the waterproof, breathable fabric that doubles up as Techniplus fabric to increase the waterproofing of your yurt. Note: waterproofing is not watertightness (something that’s watertight doesn’t breathe, like plastic, for example). Yurt fabrics are designed to protect while breathing. Waterproofing has several levels: the higher the level, the greater the protection. Laid over the felt and under the Techniplus fabric, this rainscreen fabric increaseswaterproofing against heavy rain , melting frost and snow.

3. VAPOUR-BARRIER FABRIC

The role of the STEAMPROOF fabric is to regulate the temperature difference between the outside and inside of your yurt, to limit condensation. Installed under the insulation, it prevents thermal shock. The inside of the yurt stays breezy, and humidity levels are kept to a minimum. To be completed with regular ventilation.
