1. TAKE YOUR TIME<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Don’t be in a hurry to set up your yurt, and don’t have any obligations the next day. As it’s a self-supporting structure, the elements can move right up to the end. Rushing means risking irritation and poor assembly. Choosing a<\/strong> sunny, windless day<\/strong> with a few friends, a barbecue for the lunch break, and a relaxed atmosphere: these are the keys to a successful set-up! <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

2. FOLLOW ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Please take the time to read our<\/strong> assembly instructions<\/strong> before your yurt is delivered, even if the person accompanying you assures you that he or she has already assembled yurts. Traditional yurts are not all alike <\/strong>in detail. Follow the steps one after the other<\/g>, in the right order. If you don’t, you risk destabilizing the whole structure and running into difficulties as a result of the extended assembly time. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

3. NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There’s a tendency to want to invite a lot of people to set up your yurt, because it’s convivial and because you think you’ll need a lot of hands. Our advice, based on experience, is to invite 4 to 5 people<\/strong> for a ~32m2 yurt, and 5 to 7 people for a larger yurt. Why not more? Because otherwise everyone’s pulling in all directions, giving their opinion on everything, and that complicates assembly. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

4. FINISH RIGHT AWAY<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The finishing touches are just as important as the rest, and will make your yurt last. We advise you to do them the very next day, otherwise time will fly: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– TIGHTEN STRAPS AND ROPES<\/strong>: tighten firmly and retighten over time as soon as they become loose. \u26a0\ufe0f Do not use horsehair ropes on Techniplus acrylic canvases, as they are too abrasive and may damage the canvas. We recommend synthetic straps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– SEALING INTERSTICES<\/strong>: sealing these spaces prevents water ingress and moisture problems: around French windows, around double-glazing and bay windows, door sills, around toono-circle roofs. With the help of tar strips sold in DIY stores, bathroom sealant, expanding foam… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– REINFORCING EXTERIOR WOODWORK<\/strong>: doors and windows already have a coat of varnish, but they need to be varnished even more to protect them from the elements and make them last over time. Renew every year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. DO NOT ALLOW FELT TO PROTRUDE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The felt on your yurt is like a blotter; if rain touches it, it can penetrate far into your yurt, soaking the wool. When assembling your yurt, make sure that the felt is well flattened, that it is well covered with the canvas<\/g>, and that not even the smallest piece protrudes through the openings or onto the floor around it. And your yurt will stay perfectly dry \ud83d\ude0a <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
